A Compound Patio is always built to sustain the best drainage possible. Most patios have a compacted gravel base, then a one-inch layer of sand under the pavers. Patios are pitched away from homes and / or structures to divert water away. The spaces between pavers are then filled with Polymer Based Sand to lock the pavers in place. This step is similar to grouting a tile floor.
